Here’s a cool interactive map that makes it easy to visualize the penetration of eco friendly vehicles in the American auto market. Originally seen over at NPR, a lot of the qualitative data is stuff we already know: San Francisco leads the country with the most hybrid and electric car sales, and the West Coast in general dominates the rest of the country.
But what’s interesting is the quantitative data, such as that hybrid cars and EVs make up 8.4% of all auto purchases in San Francisco, or that Washington D.C. leads New York by 2% (4.2 and 2.2, respectively).
