Fairfax Police Going Green With Silent Scooters

It looks like Police officers in Fairfax are going to be having a tough time getting respect from drivers pretty soon – that is, unless the drivers are environmentalists.It looks like Police officers in Fairfax are going to be having a tough time getting respect from drivers pretty soon – that is, unless the drivers are environmentalists. The Fairfax PD has opted to purchase 2 battery powered scooters that will be emissions-free, and silent. The obvious first response is, “they won’t be able to catch a car.” But, they already realize this, and instead have purchased the scooters in order to catch up with cyclists who’ve run stop signs (I didn’t realize that was a big problem in law enforcement these days). Anyways, the scooters have already been implemented successfully in cities like Palo Alto, so it’s worth a shot. For a picture of what the scooters really look like, click here.
