It looks like the Chevrolet Volt won’t be the only big name electric car hitting the market in 2010 – Daimler’s CEO revealed in an interview that, along with Smart, Mercedes-Benz will also be releasing a fully electric powered car in 2 years time. After John McCain announced a $300 million reward to the person who invents the best automotive battery, we will undoubtedly start hearing about more and more auto makers planning to roll out electric vehicles that will be able to take advantage of the new technology. Although there is an existing electric Smart car fleet in London, the electric Mercedes will take advantage of a more powerful fuel cell in order to accommodate its drivers tastes, and if McCain meets the goals he has set, we may be seeing an unprecedented level of energy efficiency in the vehicles.
