Electric power-assisted bicycles have been catching on as a great green form of alternative transportation, but many of the models have wires running around the bike that are the leading cause for the bikes’ parts to fail. But a new electric powered bicycle called the Shadow Ebike is going to set a new standard, and get rid of all of the unnecessary wires.

How the Shadow Ebike works

The Shadow Ebike, produced by Daymak Inc., works like traditional electric-powered bicycles, in that it has a battery and a small electric engine that can help the pedaler out when their legs get tired. The battery is typically charged by the motor attached to the wheels, as well as regenerative charging any time the brake is applied. The stored power can then be engaged at any time, whether going uphill or not (for a more detailed explanation, check out this link).

What separates the Shadow Ebike is the fact that there are no cables running to the brakes or gears, and no wires running to the engine, battery, controls, or anywhere else on the bike. The motor is completely contained within the wheels, and the wireless controls and throttle on the handles keep the electric-powered bicycle’s appearance neat and pristine. Plus, the Shadow Ebike provides the added bonus of being better protected against the daily wear and tear that causes many electric-powered bicycle’s wires to break.

Why electric power-assisted bicycles are green choice

The obvious reason why electric power-assisted bikes are green is that they emit no greenhouse gases! Other than that, they also free the road from cars, easing traffic congestion in cities (which emits even further greenhouse gases), and overall riding a bike is a great way to connect to nature. By selecting a power-assisted bike, many cyclists are able to tackle hills and trails that otherwise may be too daunting.

So if you had been considering getting a new bike this summer, be sure to consider the wireless Daymak Shadow Ebike.
