The only problem is that the Consumer Electronics Association is fighting tooth and nail against it, for fear that Californians will just ship in less-efficient (and less expensive) TVs from out of state. And the funny thing about the whole ordeal is, even though TVs were drafted into Energy Star standards in 2007, the most recent efficiency standards for them date back to when they were black and white. Maybe it’s time for a modern industry wide standard.
