Not only will a huge investment in geothermal energy create a huge amount of power for the States in the years to come, but it also creates many job opportunities where there were none before. That’s why this week, Energy Secretary Steven Chu announced they are willing to spend as much as $84 million on geothermal energy research. The U.S. is already the leader in geothermal energy production, with 29 plants operating and producing enough energy to power 1.2 million homes, and there is certainly more to come.
