House Democrats unveiled their fiscal recovery package last week, and now we finally have numbers that we can tie to all of the environmental plans we’ve been hearing about for the past months. Here it is:

  • $11 billion : smart grid technologies
  • $8 billion : renewable energy loan guarantees
  • $6.9 billion : energy efficiency help to state and local governments
  • $6.7 billion : retrofits to federal buildings
  • $6.2 billion : home weatherization for low-income families
  • $2.4 billion : carbon sequestration
  • $2 billion : loan guarantees and grants to car battery manufacturers

So far it seems as if the democrats are following through with many of the promises that were made, so now they just need to make sure the money is put to good use in each area.
