It’s being called ‘The Big Melt’, and with good reason: 2 trillion tons of ice has gone missing in the areas around Greenland, Antarctica, and Alaska in the last 5 years, according to NASA satellite data. Among the three areas, they have contributed to about 0.2 inches in sea level rising in the past 5 years which, at first, doesn’t seem like too much.
