Although by now it should be obvious as to why we want to save the forests, an organization called the Ecosystem Restoration Associates, Inc. wants to push even harder for carbon offsets. The reason for this? Robert Falls, the CEO of Ecosystem Restoration says, “greenhouse gas emissions from deforestation is larger than emissions from vehicles, aircraft, ships and trains combined.” With that much greenhouse gas at stake, driving a hybrid car seems far less important than buying carbon offsets. Healthy forest ecosystems are proven to be the most viable way to remove carbon from the atmosphere. Check out what you can do to make a difference.
