A new organization simply called
Plant A Billion Trees has set out their goal in their name, and it is an ambitious goal at that. Currently clocking in at just under 300,000 trees planted already, Plant a Billion takes donations of $1 per tree, and plants it directly in the Atlantic Forest with help from the Nature Conservancy. They plan to reach their goal in 7 years and restore 2.5 million acres of forest. The difference that amount of forest will make is the equivalent to taking 2 million cars off the road. So donate a dollar to Plant A Billion and know that there will be a tree planted somewhere in Brazil because of you.
