Giving crows a run for their money, the “astonishingly clever” honey badger is a lot smarter than most might give it credit for. In the above video from BBC Two (also available here) you can see how a honey badger teams up with its partner in order to unlock a complex gate that lets them out of their enclosure.

After the honey badgers managed to master that lock system, their keeper built a concrete enclosure that he was sure would keep the honey badgers in – but he was wrong. They managed to use anything at their disposal – rocks, tree branches, garden tools – and prop them up against the concrete wall in order to climb it and escape.
