While most of North America is concerned with freezing temperatures and snowstorms as a result of the Polar Vortex, California is going through one of its worst droughts on record.

The situation is continuing to worsen, with estimates that ten of California’s rural communities have less than two months’ water supply left. NASA is continuing to monitor the situation, capturing the worsening situation in the photographs above and below.
