Kermit the Frog and Ford FocusWhat is Greenwashing? It’s when a company does more to claim they’re green through advertising and marketing than through the implementation of business practices to reduce their environmental impact. Case in point: Ford and Kermit’s “It’s not easy being green” commercial (check the replies to watch it). To help combat this trend, EnviroMedia launched the Greenwashing Index to call out the worst of the Greenwashers, and support those with legitimate business practices. New research shows that only 1 in 3 people know the difference between a true green claim and a fake one, proving companies need to better educate the public about the real environmental benefits of their products. Check out the Greenwashing Index for the best and most authentic of the green advertisers, and for the most bogus claims made so far.
