Earth Hour 2009 is coming up quickly! On March 28, businesses and individuals all join forces to power down from 8.30 to 9.30, and Esurance, the online auto insurance provider, will be joining them. To help promote and celebrate Earth Hour, Esurance is offsetting the carbon from vehicles that are covered by their insurance through a wind energy project in Manitoba called NativeEnergy. Although the company is located in Canada, it feeds power into the midwest grid and is used by eight different U.S. states. Earth Hour has been put on for the last 3 years by the World Wildlife Fund, and it’s already shaping up to be a bigger success this year than it has in the past.
