This year, Governor Shwarzenegger awarded Bank of America with the prestigious honor for integrating environmental values, as well as doing its part to preserve natural resources over the long term. The award is partly due to the contributions Bank of America made last year, including a $20 billion 10 year initiative to help establish sustainable business practices. Also, it’s helped install solar panels at schools, financed Clean Renewable Energy Bonds, given a $65 million loan to help save a Redwood forest, financed a company’s initiative to switch their garbage trucks to run on natural gas, and been involved in many, many more programs. It’s clear that Gov. Schwarzenegger‘s choice this year was right on.
