phone books

If you’re anything like me, you have no need for a physical phone book anymore. YellowPages.com is more accurate, faster to find information in, and overall more environmentally friendly.

In fact, the continued delivery of phonebooks only costs the phone companies money and wastes paper. So go green on the web and opt out of phone book deliveries. Keep reading to find out how.

Opting out of YellowPages phone book deliveries

Opting out of receiving phone books is as easy as this 3 step process:

  1. Visit YellowPagesOptOut.com and register for an account
  2. Select all of the directories you receive
  3. Opt out of receiving the phone books for good!

Once you’re finished, you will be happy knowing that you aren’t wasting any unnecessary paper to create a phone book that will get stuffed in a drawer and never looked at.

Thanks to programs like this and the subsequent reduced size of the YellowPages phone books, the size of the phonebook has already shrunk 29% since 2006.

Note: if you’re a Canadian resident, use CanPages Opt Out instead.

Recycle your old Yellowpages Phone Books

Now that you’ve made the transition to searching online directories for contact information, be sure to put your old stacks of phone books in your curbside recycling box where they belong.
