Good news for rickshaw drivers across India yesterday – your legs will be able to take a break pretty soon. The solar-powered rickshaw, or “soleckshaw“, is supposed to be the answer to traffic and pollution in urban India, and will contain a 36 volt solar battery that the drivers will be able to use to convert their ‘shaw into a motorized vehicle when their legs are tired. The Centre for Scientific and Industrial Research created the prototypes, and they’re currently being road-tested in Old Delhi. So, now that we can convert human powered vehicles to solar-powered, can we do something about fossil fuel powered ones?
