Yesterday 5 time Olympic Swimming Gold Medalist Aaron Peirsol was the recipient of a $15,000 donation by the Bank of America that will go towards his “Race for the Oceans” campaign. Race for the Oceans was created by Peirsol along with Oceana in an attempt to raise awareness about the dangers facing global waters. Many of the fundraising events held by Race for the Oceans showcase water sports and boat racing, and are now likely to bring out larger crowds with an Olympic superstar putting on the events. Congratulations to Peirsol, who has proven that he’s not only a leader in swimming competitions, but in environmental protection endeavors as well!
