off grid lifestyle

Living independently of the energy grid is a topic that has been gaining momentum in today’s culture.

Living “off the grid,” as it’s called, means that you live a self-sufficient lifestyle by harvesting your own energy, collecting your own water, disposing of your own waste and growing your own food.

While the lifestyle is not for everyone, living off the grid has incredible benefits! It allows you to lead a healthier lifestyle by choosing what food and toxins you are exposed to. It allows you to live a simple life, away from the complications that city life can bring and without excess.

It’s also good for Mother Earth, as it lowers your carbon footprint significantly.

Living off the grid, after the initial setup costs, can save you thousands in the long run.

Imagine producing all of your own energy, rather than relying on the city to do it for you. Another reason people like to have this setup is that they are prepared and self-sufficient in case there are any problems with their citiy’s infrastructure.

There are several different ways you can live off the grid, from all-in to partial off-grid living. In the infographic below, Simply Self Storage goes through the most common ways to live off the grid, as well as all of the things you’ll need to get there.

If you decide living off the grid is right for you, there will be initial costs, and the process can be difficult.

However, the benefits are numerous. Enjoy getting back to your roots and living simply!
