On October 28, Elon Musk unveiled the anticipated new product from Tesla: a solar roof.

The Tesla solar roof does away with unsightly solar panels in lieu of camouflaged, aesthetically pleasing solar shingles.

The roofs will come in four options: Textured Glass Tile, Slate Glass Tile, Tuscan Glass Tile, and Smooth Glass Tile. Although they look opaque, they are transparent and allow for solar energy capture.

The announcement also featured a new version of the Tesla Powerwall – a home battery to capture and store energy for evenings and times when the sun isn’t shining. The Powerwall 2 offers double the energy storage of the original, with a 14 kWh capacity. It also features a flatter, more angular design:

Pricing has not been announced for the solar roof yet, but you can subscribe at Tesla.com for updates on availability.
